Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa said he will subject to Oplan Tokhang the celebrities included in the drug list of President Rodrigo Duterte. Dela Rosa, however, said he has yet to actually see and get hold of the list.
“Sa mga artista kung ibigay ni Presidente sa akin yung listahan na yun, gusto mo i-Tokhang natin sila? Ito-tokhang natin. Sama kayo?” he told reporters. Under Oplan Tokhang, policemen visit suspected drug users and pushers at their homes to convince to surrender. Incoming Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) chairman Martin Diño revealed Saturday that at least 50 celebrities are included in the drug list of President Duterte.
He said at least 10 celebrities on the list are suspected pushers and the rest are mostly party drugs users. He declined to name the celebrities. He said that Duterte may soon make the list public. "Iyong iba nakikita na natin tapos merong mga bago, lalung-lalo na mga bata. Ang ganda ganda ng buhay mo tapos sisirain ka lang ng droga," Diño said. Dela Rosa said he would personally visit the celebrities' homes and TV networks.
“Katukin natin sa kani-kaniyang bahay, kani-kaniyang TV station. Surrender na kayo kasi identified kayo na user,” he said. He added that the celebrities should not be excluded from Oplan Tokhang. “I-Tokhang natin. Tinokhang nga natin yung mga high-end subsdivisions diyan, sila pa na public figure. They should be open to the public,” he said.
